This part of DIN CEN ISO/TS 80004 lists the core terms and their definitions in the field of nanotechnologies. Among those terms specified are nanomaterial, nanoscale, nano-object and nanostructured material. It is intended to facilitate communications between organizations and individuals in industry and those who interact with them. This terminology standard is intended to be applied by any persons in contact with nanomaterials, in particular by authorities, manufacturers and users of nanomaterials. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-08-17-01 UA "Terminologie" ("Terminology") of Working Committee NA 062-08-17 AA "Nanotechnologien" ("Nanotechnologies") at DIN.
