Organization

DIN is a private organization that is registered as a non-profit association.

The DIN Presidial Board is responsible for standardization policy and makes business and financial policy decisions for DIN and its subsidiary and associated companies either directly or through its commissions.

The Executive Board manages the business affairs of DIN.

The Members of the Management Board hold overall responsibility for their respective area in corporate, organizational, disciplinary and technical respects.

At DIN, standards work is carried out in the Standardization department.

The Presidial Committees support the Presidial Board in its various activities.

DIN's Commissions advise the Chairman of the Executive Board. They coordinate activities within a specific area of standardization and network with other organizations.

DIN's Coordination Offices and Helpdesks specialize in a particular area and consult organizations in the public and private sectors regarding standardization in that area.
