Overview
This document specifies a method for decomposing a reversal point sequence into oscillation cycles and for counting the frequency of oscillation cycles with the same swing amplitude and mean value. This method is called the Rainflow method. This document is applicable to any single-channel measurement signals. This document is not applicable to the detection of time- or frequency-dependent influences or the influence of the signal time-function between two reversal points. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-01-45 AA "Ermüdungsprüfung" ("Fatigue Testing") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
