Overview
This document specifies a test method for determining the dimensional change (shrinkage or elongation) of heavy fabrics resulting from repeated wetting and drying during use. The test method applies to heavy fabrics (for example, fabrics for tarpaulins, tents, and awnings, as well as other fabrics exposed to the elements) with a weight per unit area of more than 350 g/m2, provided they are not generally used for clothing purposes. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 062-05-13 AA "Textilpflege, Wassereinwirkung, Knitterverhalten" ("Textile care, water action, crease behaviour") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
