Abstract

This document specifies a test method for identification and quantification of dyes listed in Table A.1 in methanol extracts using a liquid chromatograph with triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (LC-MS/MS). It is applicable for all types of textiles and textile products consisting of natural or man-made dyed fibres, e.g. fibres of animal origin, cellulose-based fibres, polyesters, polyamides, acetates, triacetates, polyacrylics, viscose and other dyeable fibres. It is not applicable to fibres made of elastane and elastodiene but can be used for blended fabrics containing these fibres. It is also not applicable to the determination of index ingredients in textiles coloured with natural colourants, which are covered by the ISO 22195 series. This is a convention method; differing extraction conditions lead to deviating results.
