Overview

This document reviews methods for measuring the thickness of metallic and other inorganic coatings on both metallic and non-metallic substrates. It is limited to tests already specified, or to be specified, in International Standards and excludes certain tests that are used for special applications. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 062-01-61 AA "Mess- und Prüfverfahren für metallische und andere anorganische Überzüge" ("Measuring and test methods for metallic and other inorganic coatings") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
