Overview
This part of ISO 6892 specifies the method for tensile testing of metallic materials and defines the mechanical properties which can be determined at room temperature. This international document ISO 6892-1:2016 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 164 "Mechanical testing of metals", Subcommittee 1 "Uniaxial Testing" in collaboration with Technical Committee ECISS/TC 101 "Test methods for steel (other than chemical analysis)", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France) and adopted as EN ISO 6892-1:2016 within the scope of the parallel voting procedure. The committee NA 062-01-42 AA "Zug- und Duktilitätsprüfung für Metalle" ("Tensile and ductility testing of metals") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP) is responsible for the German collaboration.
