This document has been prepared by Working Group "Shearography" of Working Committee NA 062-08-20 AA "Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung; Obleuteausschuss" ("Non-destructive testing; Advisory group") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP). DIN 54180 "Non-destructive testing - Shearography" consists of: - Part 1: General Principles - Part 2: Apparatus This document specifies the general principles of the shearographic test and defines or explains the basic terms required to describe and perform shearographic tests. The purpose of this document is to specify the principles for the use of the test equipment and for performing the test. The specific conditions for the application and performance of shearographic tests, which depend on the nature of the test item, are described in documents such as: - product standards; - design provisions; - rules; - written agreements; - written test instructions.
