DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing
Testing the resistance of unalloyed and low alloy steels to intergranular stress corrosion cracking by attack of nitrate medium - Welded and unwelded materials
Abstract
The rapid corrosion test specified in this document is used to test welded and non-welded unalloyed and low-alloy steels for resistance to intercrystalline stress corrosion cracking. This document does not apply to the testing of welded joints on seamless pipes (see explanatory notes). This test method may only be applied to ferritic and pearlitic steels which are intended to exhibit increased resistance to intergranular stress corrosion cracking compared to general structural steels.
