Woodworking machines - Safety - Part 1: Common requirements (ISO 19085-1:2026); German version EN ISO 19085-1:2026
Abstract
This document specifies safety and cyber security requirements and measures common to most woodworking machines capable of continuous production use and designed to process solid wood and materials with similar physical characteristics to wood, hereinafter referred to also as "machines". This document deals with significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events (listed in Annex A), relevant to woodworking machinery, when it is used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable. This document is also applicable to the other life cycle phases of woodworking machines: transport, assembly, adjustment, maintenance, disabling, dismantling and scrapping. This document also deals with cyber security hazards significant to woodworking machines in relation with potential loss of availability, confidentiality and integrity, not only related with machines safety. This document is not applicable to machines intended for use in potential explosive atmospheres or to machines manufactured prior to the date of its publication.
