Abstract
This standard is applicable in connection with DIN EN 62444 (VDE 0619) for the design and construction of cable glands. It specifies requirements and tests for the cable glands with regard to the required properties. The calculation bases for the geometrical requirements are presented in the normative Annex A. This standard applies to complete cable glands as supplied by the manufacturer or by the supplier responsible for placing the product on the market. This standard applies to cable glands with metric connection thread according to EN 60423 and to DIN 13-6 and DIN 13-7. This standard does not apply to: - Cable glands for mineral-insulated cables and conductors; - Cable glands for explosive areas; - Bable glands, which have been declared according to DIN EN 62444:2014-05, 6.2.2.
