Overview

This document specifies test methods for the determination of the slip resistance of surfaces in the most commonly encountered situations in which pedestrians walk. This Technical Specification does not deal with sports surfaces and road surfaces for vehicles (skid resistance). The document is directed at manufacturers of pedestrian surfaces whose products are required to fulfil the Building Product Directive and at independent test laboratories. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-08-82 AA "Prüfung der rutschhemmenden Eigenschaft von Bodenbelägen" ("Testing of the slip resistance characteristic of floor coverings") at DIN.
