Overview
The standard describes the procedure of the acceptance test in accordance with § 16 of the Röntgenverordnung (German X-ray Regulation) (RöV) on radiographic equipment for digital con-beam computed tomography. This includes radiographic equipment with image intensifier systems and flat panel detector systems. It does not apply for equipment working according to the tomosynthesis principle and which create picture volumes from a very low number of projection images and incomplete angle information (< 180°). In this part of DIN 6868, no initial values (reference values) for the constancy test are determined. This remains reserved for a future constancy test standard. The methods for the determination of the initial values are preferably based on non-invasive measurements carried out with suitable test equipment during or after completion of the installation. The standard contains image quality assuring specifications according to the German X-Ray Ordinance (RöV) of 1987-01-08 in the version of announcement of 2003-04-30, requirements according to § 16 and serves in connection with the Sachverständigen-Prüfrichtlinie (QS-RL) (testing guidelines for experts) and the Qualitätssicherungsrichtlinie (QS-RL) (quality assurance guidelines) for the fulfilment of national requirements in radiation protection. This standard has been prepared jointly by Working Committee NA 014-00-08 AA "Röntgendiagnostik" ("Radiological diagnostics") of the Dentistry Standards Committee (NADENT) and Working Committee NA 080-00-06 AA "Bildgebende Systeme" ("Imaging systems") of the Radiology Standards Committee (NAR) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V. in collaboration with the Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft (German Radiological Society) and in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Medizinische Physik (German Society for Medical Physics), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nuklearmedizin (German Society of Nuclear Medicine) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Radioonkologie (German Society for Radio Oncology).
