Definitions and parameters on cylindrical worm gear pairs with rectangular crossing shafts - Part 3: Worm and worm wheel with flanks of different lead angles (Dual lead teeth)
Begriffe und Bestimmungsgrößen für Zylinder-Schneckengetriebe mit sich rechtwinklig kreuzenden Achsen - Teil 3: Schnecke und Schneckenrad mit Flanken unterschiedlicher Steigungswinkel (Dual Lead Verzahnung)
Overview
This document specifies definitions and parameters for cylindrical worm gear pairs with flank forms A, C, I, K, and N (according to DIN 3975-1) where both flanks have different lead angles. This type of worm geometry is known as "dual lead" and as a rule is designated as such. The definitions and parameters presented here are applicable to wheel sets, worms, worm wheels, tooth thickness dimensions, and backlash of such dual lead teeth. DIN 3975-2 applies to deviations. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 060-34-14 AA "Schneckenverzahnungen (SpA ISO/TC 60/SC 1/WG 7)" ("Worm gears") of Section "Antriebstechnik" ("Gear") at DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of manufacturers and users of worm gears as well as representatives from universities participated in its preparation.
