DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering

Overview

This standard contains the German version of EN ISO 13349:2010, which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 117 "Fans" (secretariat: BSI, Great Britain) in collaboration with CEN/TC 156 "Ventilation of buildings" (secretariat: Great Britain). The national interests during the preparation were represented by the Technical Section Allgemeine Lufttechnik (General ventilation technology) of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 060-09-11 AA "Ventilatoren" ("Fans"). Representatives of the interested parties, including manufacturers and users of fans, and research and testing institutes, participated in the preparation. This International Standard defines terms and categories in the field of fans used for all purposes. It is not applicable to electrical safety. This standard differs from DIN EN ISO 13349:2010-12 as follows: a) circulation fans and air curtain units have been included; b) Table 1 has been modified; c) Table 3 (smoke-ventilating fans) has been deleted d) subclause 5.3.5 (ignition-protected fans) has been deleted e) editorial revisions.
