Overview

This Amendment applies in connection with the existing standard for Class 1 requirements (highest requirement) for centrifugal pumps used in various industries. The technical requirements refer only to the pump unit. Storage pumps are not included in this standard. This standard includes design features concerned with installation, maintenance and safety of such pumps, including baseplate, coupling and auxiliary piping. Where this standard is to be used a) and requires a specific design feature, alternative designs can be offered, provided they satisfy the requirements of this International Standard and the alternative is described in detail b) pumps not complying with all requirements of this International Standard can also be offered for consideration, provided that all deviations are stated. This Amendment contains the German version of the Amendment A1:2011 to EN ISO 9905:1997, which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 115 "Pumps", in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 197 "Pumps" (secretariat: AFNOR, France) at the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN). The national interests during the preparation are represented by NA 060-11-01 AA "Kreiselpumpen" ("Centrifugal pumps") of Technical Section "Pumpen" ("Pumps") of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN.
