Crop protection equipment - Measurement of spray drift potential from nozzles in a wind tunnel
Abstract
This document specifies a method to measure the spray drift potential from nozzles in a wind tunnel under controlled conditions. It is applicable for flat fan nozzles, deflector nozzles and double flat fan nozzles used for the application of plant protection products with horizontal boom sprayers. The results, expressed as drift index (DIX), can be used for the comparative assessment or classification of spray drift reduction technologies (DRT) for the application in arable (field) crops. The standard also specifies new harmonized spray drift reduction classes.
