Protection of banknotes by neutralization systems
Abstract
The planned European Standard shall be developed as a performance specification for Cash Degradation Systems. Furthermore the standard shall be developed to encompass Cash Degradation Systems designed primarily for use in Cash in Transit (CIT) and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) operations. The purpose of the systems covered by this standard shall deter the theft of cash by neutralizing stolen banknotes thereby making them of no value to criminals.
