Residential solid fuel burning appliances Part 2-9 : appliances fired batchwise with wood pellets in fuel baskets
Abstract
This document is part of the EN 16510 series of standards for residential solid fuel burning appliances. It applies to space heaters, heating inserts and cookers designed as manually fed, batch-operated appliances with integrated wood pellet baskets. If the appliance is intended to be used with logs or wood briquettes, the combustion chamber may need to be modified; each fuel must be tested separately in accordance with the relevant part of EN 16510-2-x. The intended use of the appliances described is space heating in residential buildings and may also be cooking (if tested accordingly). The appliances may be supplied either as a fully assembled unit or as prefabricated kits for on-site assembly. Operation is only permitted with the firebox doors closed. This part 2-9 of EN 16510 is to be used in conjunction with EN 16510-1 and contains the requirements and test methods for the appliances described. This document also specifies the procedure for assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP).
