DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection

Overview

This document (EN 54-13:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 72 "Fire detection and fire alarm systems", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Group "Basiskomponenten von Brandmeldeanlagen - SpA zu CEN/TC 72/WG 7 bis WG 9 und WG 22" ("Basic components of fire alarm systems - mirror committee of CEN/TC 72/WG 7 to WG 9 and WG 22") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW). This document specifies the requirements for compatibility and connectability assessment of components of fire detection and fire alarm system or voice alarm system as a subsystem of fire detection and fire alarm system. The components comply either with the requirements of EN 54 or with a manufacturer's specification where there is no EN 54 standard. This document only includes system requirements when these are necessary for compatibility assessment. This document covers transmission path only between components.
