Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 1: Design and operation
Abstract
This document specifies requirements for the installation and operation of systems for fire detection, fire alarm and fire alarm systems in and around buildings, taking particular account of building regulations and fire brigade-specific requirements. NOTE The requirement under building regulations for the installation and operation of a fire detection and alarm system (FDAS) or an alarm system may result from a generally applicable regulation or from the building permit. The systems can also be used to control additional fire protection and operating equipment and other fire controls (e.g. control of elevators) in the event of a fire. This document is not applicable to these additional fire protection and operating devices themselves. This document is applicable together with DIN VDE 0833-1 and DIN VDE 0833-2.
