Scope of work

The working committee deals with the standardisation of hydraulic and pneumatic rescue equipment used by fire brigades. Overview of the main standardisation topics of the committee so far:

  • double-acting hydraulic rescue tools (DIN EN 13204);
  • lifting bag systems (DIN EN 13731);
  • lifting set with single-acting hydraulic cylinders (DIN 14800-6);
  • double-acting hydraulic rescue tools with integrated pump and/or power source (DIN 14751-4);
  • single-acting hydraulic rescue tools (DIN 14751-5).
The most important objective of the standardisation work is to carry out fire brigade operations safely and efficiently by specifying safety requirements as well as requirements for the performance of hydraulic and pneumatic rescue equipment.
