High rise aerial appliances - mirror committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 4

Scope of work

The working committee deals with the standardisation of high rise aerial vehicles for fire brigades. Overview of the main standardisation topics of the committee so far:

• High rise aerial vehicles:
1. DLA 12/9 or DLAK 12/9 according to DIN EN 14043;
2. DLA 18/12 or DLAK 18/12 according to DIN EN 14043;
3. DLA 23/12 or DLAK 23/12 according to DIN EN 14043;
4. HAB according to DIN EN 1777 and DIN 14701-1;
5. DIN EN 14044 "Turntable ladders with sequential movements (semi-automatic turntable ladders)";

The standardisation of fire fighting vehicles for extinguishing purposes and other (special) fire fighting vehicles does not belong to the field of work of NA 031-04-08 AA. This is done in NA 031-04-06 AA and NA 031-04-07 AA respectively. The most important objective of the standardisation work is to ensure that fire-fighting operations are carried out safely and efficiently for both the emergency services and the persons to be rescued by specifying safety requirements and requirements for the performance of aerial rescue vehicles.

The European standards of this body are developed under German covenorship and DIN secretariat management in CEN/TC 192/WG 4.
