Overview
This standard specifies a method for the determination of phenol, dihydroxybenzenes and monomethylphenoles (cresols) in particular in groundwater and leachate. Applicability of the method on other phenols (for example, demethylphenol, trimethylphenol and chlorophenol) and other matrices such as surface water and waste waters as well as aqueous eluates and percolates is not excluded; it shall, however, be tested in each individual case. According to this method, the analytes indicated in Table 1 can be detected from sample volumes with a limit of determination of less than 1 µg/l.
