Overview

This document for central locking systems for escape hatches on ships specifies the requirements for operability, design, and materials. This standard does not specify individual design details due to the wide variety of suitable central locking system designs available on the market. This document applies to central locking systems for weathertight small ship hatches used as emergency exits on ships. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 132-01-02 AA "Türen und Luken" ("Doors on ships and side scuttles") at DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT).
