Overview

This document has been prepared at DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT), Working Committee NA 132-01-05 AA "Heben, Schleppen, Ankern" ("Heaving, towing, anchoring") in collaboration with the DIN Standards Committee Round Steel Link Chains (NRK), Working Committee NA 085-00-05 AA "Rundstahlketten, Einzelteile und Zubehör für die Schifffahrt" ("Round steel link chains, components and accessories for marine purposes"). This document is applicable to common stud links of Grade K3 with the nominal sizes 16 to 90, which are used on board of vessels at ambient temperatures ≥ -20 °C. They are components of shots of anchor chain cables of Grade K3 according to VG 84501.
