Overview
This document specifies the technical delivery conditions for pipe fittings (hereinafter referred to as "fittings"). They apply to complete fittings and their individual parts, such as pipe sockets, sealing elements, and union nuts. The specifications are based on DIN 3859 and DIN EN ISO 8434-1 and are supplemented by requirements specific to shipbuilding. Materials for pipe fittings used in shipbuilding are also specified. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 132-02-05 AA "Rohre und Rohrverbindungen" ("Piping systems and connections") at DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT).
