Overview
This standard contains the requirements and tests for permanently installed liquefied petroleum gas LPG systems and LPG burning appliances on small craft of up to 24 m length of hull, with the exception of systems, propulsion engines and LPG-driven generators. This standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission to provide one means of conforming to Essential Requirements of the New Approach Directive 94/25/EC as amended by Directive 2003/44/EC. This standard concretizes essential requirements of the aforementioned directive on recreational craft in Annex 1, 5.5, Gas system, 5.6.1, Fire protection and 2.5, Owner's Manual. It provides manufacturers and purchasers of craft with legal security by the highest presumption of conformity with regard to the relevant part of the legal requirements. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 132-08-01-16 AK "Flüssiggasanlagen" ("LPG systems") at DIN.
