DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology

Abstract

This document is applicable to anchor chain cables of grade K3, which according to DIN 81834 are the generic term for both anchor chain cables of grade K3 and studless anchor chain cables of grade K3 or their components which are used on board ships of the Bundeswehr. These are - stud link anchor chain cables as specified in VG 84510;
- shots of chain cable as specified in VG 84501;
- kenter type joining shackles as specified in VG 84502;
- end shackles as specified in VG 84503;
- slip stopper hooks as specified in VG 84505;
- forerunners as specified in VG 84512;
- slipstoppers as specified in VG 84514;
- three link adapter pieces as specified in VG 84516;
- swivel shackles as specified in VG 84536;
- studless anchor chain cables as specified in VG 84537;
- connectors for forerunner as specified in VG 84539;
- lashing links as specified in VG 84527;
- common stud links as specified in VG 84529;
- enlarged stud links as specified in VG 84530;
- end links as specified in VG 84531;
- large end links as specified in VG 84534.
NOTE VG 84524 is applicable for anchor chain cables of grade NM (non magnetizable).
