DIN Standards Committee Timber and Furniture

Overview

This document specifies test methods and requirements for the fitness for use of kitchen furniture and bathroom furniture. This document is applicable to furniture in new condition intended for bathrooms, domestic kitchens, utility rooms or similar from this product group (e. g. kitchenettes). This document is not applicable to seating furniture and free-standing tables, outdoor kitchens, furniture in private swimming pools. The safety requirements for container furniture for kitchens and bathrooms are specified in DIN EN 14749. Safety requirements for furniture with electric drives are contained in DIN EN 17684 and DIN EN IEC 60335-2-116. DIN EN 1116 contains information on coordination dimensions for kitchen furniture and DIN 68935 for bathroom furniture. DIN EN 14688 contains functional requirements and test methods for washbasins in bathroom furniture. DIN EN 13310 contains functional requirements and test methods for kitchen sinks.
