This standard is a product standard for connectors. Committee NA 140-00-14-01 UA "Steckverbinder und Steckvorrichtungen" ("Electrical connectors and plug-and-socket devices") at DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE) is responsible for this standard. This standard is applicable in connection with VG 95319-2, VG 96938-2 and VG 96938-3 for Ethernet connectors (diagnostic connectors) for data transmissions (Category 6a according to DIN EN 50173-1, 250 MHz), shielded, (IP X7), up to 60 V rated voltage. Properties and implementation regulations are contained in VG 95319-2. Connectors according to this standard are subject to type testing according to VG 95211.
