Overview
This document applies to equipment to be newly developed or procured for, or to be furnished to the Bundeswehr. It is also applicable to the modernisation of equipment already introduced. The document specifies requirements for the protection against the effects of an exo-NEMP and lightning.When applying this test method, the NEMP respectively lightning test disturbances are fed directly into the antenna terminals of the transmitting and/or receiving systems with the associated antenna matching devices and protection circuits when the antenna is disconnected. The test method according to this document is only applicable if the protection circuits are located in the path behind the antenna. The test method is not applicable to antennas with integrated protective circuitry. In these cases, the test method SF 50 according to VG 96903-50 is applicable.
