DIN Standards Committee Sports Equipment

Overview

This part of ISO 10958 specifies requirements and test methods for snowboards as sports equipment on which bindings are attached by means of inserts that are not removable and screws. It contains data for the manufacturer of snowboards, bindings and retention devices concerning dimensions, tests and other specifications for the binding mounting area. This standard includes safety requirements within the meaning of the Produktsicherheitsgesetz (ProdSG) (German Product Safety Act). This document (ISO 10958-2:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 83 "Sports and other recreational facilities and equipment", Subcommittee SC 4 "Snowsports equipment" (Secretariat: ASI, Austria). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 112-03-01 AA "Ski- und Snowboardsportgeräte" ("Ski and snowboard sports equipment") at DIN Standards Committee Sports Equipment (NASport). Where this standard has been identified by the Ausschuss für Produktsicherheit (German Committee for Product Safety) and reference to it has been published in the Gemeinsames Ministerialblatt (German Joint Ministerial Gazette) by the Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin (BAuA) (German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health), it is to be presumed that snowboards with inserts which comply with this standard fulfil the relevant health and safety requirements
