DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering

Overview

This standard contains specifications giving detail to the essential requirements set out in the Directive 2009/128/EC - Sustainable use of pesticides. This International Standard applies for all types of sprayers for plant protection products used in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and other areas. In this part they are designated as sprayers. ISO 16122 specifies the requirements and test methods for the in use inspection of sprayers. This part primarily deals with the condition of the sprayer with respect to potential risks for the environment and its performance to achieve a good application. This part of ISO 16122 specifies the minimum requirements to be met. The specific requirements for the different types of sprayers are defined in the relevant specific parts. The scope of each specific sprayer type is specified in normative Annex A. This part of also includes minimum requirements for the preparation of the sprayer for the inspection and the minimum safety requirements with respect to the safety of the inspector (test operator) during the inspection. This standard contains the German version of EN ISO 16122-1:2015, which has been prepared by ISO/TC 23 "Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry" in collaboration with TC/TC 144 "Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry" at the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-16-02 "Bodenbearbeitung, Saat, Pflanzenpflege und Pflanzenschutz" ("Soil cultivation, seeds, plant care and plant protection") of the DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of the interested parties were involved in the preparation of this standard.
