Pneumatic fluid power - Cylinders, 1 000 kPa (10 bar) series - Mounting dimensions of rod-end spherical eyes (ISO 8139:2009)

Title (German)

Fluidtechnik - Pneumatikzylinder, 1 000-kPa-(10-bar-)Reihe - Anschlussmaße für Gelenkköpfe (ISO 8139:2009)

Overview

This International Standard specifies the mounting dimensions required for interchangeability of rod-end spherical eyes on pneumatic cylinders. These rod-end spherical eyes have been designed specifically for use with 1 000 kPa (10 bar) series cylinders manufactured in accordance with ISO 6430, ISO 6432 and ISO 15552. However, this does not limit their application. Rod-end spherical eyes are used on piston rods of pneumatic cylinders for mechanically transmitting the cylinder force under oscillatory rotational and tilting movements. The design of the rod-end spherical eyes is based on the maximum forces resulting from the internal diameter of the cylinders and pressure according to the aforementioned standards. This standard contains the German version of ISO 8139:2009 which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 131 "Fluid power systems". With respect to DIN ISO 8139:2008-01, the following changes have been made: a) the normative references have been updated, that means, ISO 286-2 has been transferred into the bibliography and ISO 6431 has been replaced by ISO 15552; b) the dimensional designations in Figure 1 and Table 1 have been brought into line with ISO 6099; c) The dimension M24×2 of the rod-end spherical eye has been deleted. The national interests during the preparation of the standard were represented by Committee NA 060-36-21-01 AA "Pneumatische Antriebe" ("Pneumatic drives") of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN.
