Vibration measurement on railway traffic systems - Part 3: Prediction method based on third-octave spectra
Schwingungsmessung an Schienenverkehrswegen - Teil 3: Prognoseverfahren auf Basis von Terzspektren
Overview
This document specifies a method for predicting the vibrations caused by railway traffic in adjacent buildings due to interactions between vehicle and track. The prediction results can be used to evaluate vibration emissions in accordance with DIN 4150-2 and DIN 4150-3. The method described can also be used - with an extended frequency range - to predict secondary airborne sound. These predictions are relevant to the planning and construction of urban rail systems (subways, light rail, and trams) and railways, as well as buildings located in the immediate vicinity of railway traffic systems. The method can be used for predictions for both above-ground and underground railway traffic systems. Assessment procedures are not specified in this document. The responsible national standardization committee is Working Committee NA 001-03-15 AA "Schwingungsminderung in der Umgebung von Verkehrswegen" ("Mitigation of vibration in the vicinity of traffic routes") at DIN/VDI Standards Committee Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering (NALS).
