DIN/VDI Standards Committee Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering

About NALS

The DIN/VDI-Standards Committee Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering Standards (NALS) - being both a Standards Committee of DIN and a Technical Society of VDI - is responsible for developing national technical rules and standards relating to acoustics, noise control and vibration engineering where these areas do not lie within the scope of other DIN Standards Committees or other Technical Societies of VDI. In these areas NALS also actively participates in the standardization at European and international levels.

In standards work on ultrasound technology, electroacoustics, recording technology and building acoustics the Committee cooperates with other Standards Committees of DIN and DKE, the latter being the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies of DIN and VDE. NALS also works closely together with Technical Societies of VDI, e. g. in the area of vibration engineering. NALS is responsible for developing DIN Standards, VDI Guidelines and DIN SPECs in the areas mentioned above, and advocates the use of German Standards and Guidelines on these subjects in daily life.
