Abstract
This document specifies requirements for standardized surgical emergency trays for the acute surgical care of severely injured patients. It defines minimum requirements for the composition, labeling and provision of instrument sets used in time-critical emergency surgical interventions. The document applies to hospitals at all levels of care as well as to emergency and disaster medical care facilities, provided they are involved in the care of seriously injured patients.
