Road vehicles - Ageing of automotive components in solar simulation units
Abstract
The method is used to determine the ageing behavior of polymer vehicle components in their original installation positions and assembly type. It is applied to complex assemblies or entire vehicles and is therefore particularly suitable for identifying interactions between different materials within a component or between several components. The changes in all properties relevant to use such as shape, color, gloss, haptics, strength and the consequences of different thermal expansion under the influence of artificial global radiation, heat/cold and moisture are assessed.
