Tolerances for Single-start Hobs for Involute Spur Gears
Abstract
This document specifies tolerances for all pressure angles. According to the required accuracy, five quality grades are distinguished: grades A, B, C, D and, for the highest requirements, the special grade AA. The manufacturing process for the cutters of the various quality grades is left to the discretion of the manufacturer. The terms for gear hobs are defined in DIN 8000 (currently under revision). This document is prepared by Working Committee NA 121-01-31 AA Broaching- and gear cutting tools within the DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS).
