Abstract

This document shall be applied to pipes and fittings with profiled wall and smooth pipe inside with or without moulded-on socket with elastomeric sealing ring type joints as well as with heated tool butt welding, extrusion welding and electrofusion socket joints according to DIN 16961-1 and DIN 16961-2. This document provides recommendations for the assessment of conformity which shall be included in the manufacturer's quality assurance plan as part of a quality management system. This document contains: a) requirements for testing (TT, BRT, PRT) of materials, components and joints, the requirements of which are specified in DIN 16961-1 and DIN 16961-2; b) requirements for the quality management system of the manufacturer; c) definitions and methods to be carried out for third-party certification.
