About FNK

DIN Standards Committee Plastics (FNK) represents the standardization interests in the field of plastics manufacturing and plastics processing on the national, European and international level. The scope of FNK includes standardization of

  • terminology,
  • specifications,
  • test methods
  • and welding methods

for the following areas:

  • plastics and plastics-based materials,
  • semi finished products (thermoplastics, thermosets, thermoplastics elastomers, composites and reinforced products, pipes, fittings, floorcoverings, films, sheets for waterproofing, sheets and profiles),
  • the biodegradability,
  • the ageing,
  • chemical and environmental resistance,
  • the recycling of plastics.
