Overview
This document applies to screw and washer assemblies consisting of flat-head screws with coarse thread M,5 to M12 and strength classes 8.8 and 10,9, that are assembled with captive conical spring washers. Conical spring washers are intended to counteract the loosening of bolted connections that can be caused, for example, by setting (see DIN 267-26). They do not provide effective protection against loosening under alternating transverse loads and thus should only be used with short bolts subjected primarily to axial loads.
