This document has been prepared by Standards Committee Fasteners (FMV), Working Committee NA 067-00-06 AA "Oberflächenschichten von Verbindungselementen" ("Surface coatings of fasteners"). This document specifies functional properties of microencapsulated adhesive (MK) coatings applied as a precoating to uncoated or coated steel or stainless steel bolts, screws and studs. It specifies a suitability test of MK coatings on a defined test bolt, as well as a system test of bolts with MK coatings at room temperature and at elevated temperatures. This document applies to bolts, screws and studs with - ISO metric thread according to DIN ISO 261, - nominal thread diameters from M3 to M39 (coarse thread), - nominal thread diameters from 8 mm to 39 mm (fine pitch thread), - property classes according to DIN EN ISO 898-1, DIN EN ISO 3506-1 and DIN 267-13, - uncoated and coated surfaces, - an application temperature range from -50 °C to 100 °C and, depending on application specifications, up to 150 °C.
