Title (German)

Risikomanagement - Verfahren zur Risikobeurteilung (IEC 31010:2019); Deutsche Fassung EN IEC 31010:2019

Overview

This International Standard provides guidance on the selection and application of techniques for assessing risk in a wide range of contexts. The techniques are used to assist in making decisions where there is uncertainty, to provide information about particular risks and as part of a process for managing risk. The document provides summaries of a range of techniques, with references to other documents where the techniques are described in more detail. These procedures are applied: - when further knowledge of existing risks or a specific risk is required; - as part of a decision in which a number of options, each involving a risk, shall be compared or optimized; - as part of a risk management process that leads to a measure for handling a risk. The standard differs from DIN EN 31010 (VDE 0050-1):2010-11 as follows: a) more details are provided on the process of planning, implementing, verifying, and validating the application of the procedures; b) the number of procedures has been increased and their scope of application has been expanded; c) the concepts covered in ISO 31000 (a normative document) are not repeated in this standard. The procedures described in this document are suitable for any type of risk assessment.
