Abstract
This document specifies designations, tests, and requirements for the safe operation of gas-tight nickel-metal hydride cells and batteries for use in industrial applications, except road vehicles. If an IEC International Standard exists that specifies test conditions and requirements for cells used in specific applications and these conflict with this document, then the former shall take precedence (e.g., IEC 62675). Since this document covers batteries for various industrial applications, it contains the common minimum requirements for the various applications.
