DC filter capacitors for HVDC transmission system
Abstract
This document applies to conventional main DC filter capacitors and neutral bus capacitors used in HVDC transmission systems, as well as to other applications where capacitor units or banks are subjected to significant DC voltage stresses. This document does not apply to low-voltage DC filter capacitors, as they are bypassed by filter reactors that short-circuit the DC components. This document does not apply to, for example, to capacitors of the self-healing metallized dielectric type, or coupling capacitors. Accessories such as insulators, switches, instrument transformers, surge arresters, etc. are in accordance with the relevant IEC standards.
