Shut-off valves for drinking water installations in properties and buildings - General requirements and tests for manually operated shut-off valves
Abstract
This document is applicable for manually operated shut-off valves up to nominal size DN 100, PN 10. The valves can also be in combination with a backflow preventer.
- Piston gate valves;
- Diaphragm valves;
- Gate valves;
- Ceramic disk valve;
- Installation manifold with integrated shut-off valve; which are installed in drinking water installations in buildings in accordance with DIN 1988 and DIN EN 806. The standard is not applicable to fittings according to DIN EN 1213 and DIN EN 13828. This document specifies general requirements, such as those for tightness, resistance to internal pressure, hydraulic behavior, temperature resistance and mechanical behavior, which valves with pressure-bearing housing parts made of metallic materials for drinking water installations in buildings must meet, as well as for the test methods that make it possible to verify the requirements. This document applies to the above-mentioned fittings at a service temperature of 65 °C. Occasional temperature rises of the system up to 95 °C are permitted, provided that they do not last longer than 1 h
.
- Ceramic disk valve;
- Gate valves;
- Diaphragm valves;
