Overview
This document specifies a test method for determining the friction of paper against paper or another friction partner on an inclined plane under defined conditions. The friction determined in accordance with this document is characterized by a static coefficient of static friction and a dynamic coefficient of sliding friction. A comprehensive assessment of friction on processing machines cannot be derived from this, as friction processes under practical conditions are usually accompanied by additional effects, such as entrained air, local temperature increases, electrostatic charging, or material abrasion. DIN 53119-1 is applicable to the testing of friction using the recording method.
