Overview
This part of IEC 61000 deals with the limitation of harmonic currents injected into the public supply system. The limits given in this International Standard are applicable to electrical and electronic equipment with a rated input current exceeding 16 A and up to and including 75 A per phase, intended to be connected to public low-voltage a.c. AC distribution systems of the following types: - nominal voltage up to 240 V, single-phase, two or three wires; - nominal voltage up to 690 V, three-phase, three or four wires; - nominal frequency 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Other distribution systems are excluded. The standard differs from DIN EN 61000-3-12 (VDE 0838-12):2012-06 and DIN EN 61000-3-12 Supplement 1 (VDE 0838-12 Supplement 1):2015-03 as follows: a) a more practical assessment of the phase angle conditions for the application of Table 4 and Table 5; b) inclusion of the Interpretation Sheet (77A/792/ISH or DIN EN 61000-3-12 Supplement 1:2015) in the standard; c) application of Clause A.2 to heat pumps as well; d) use of the word "should" to standardize references to IEC standards; e) correction of editorial errors identified in the report on comments to 77A/1015/CD; f) approval of the publication of the Rsce in addition to Sscc in the product documentation. This standard applies to devices and equipment intended for connection to low-voltage systems connected to the public energy supply network at the low-voltage level. It does not apply to devices and equipment intended solely for connection to non-public low-voltage networks connected to the public energy supply network only at the medium- or high-voltage level.
